Rev. Harold Davis
Rev. Harold D. Davis is founder and Executive Director of TALKS
Mentoring of Champaign
County (Illinois). He is an ordained minister and is recognized as an
Associate Minister at
Canaan Missionary Baptist Church of Urbana, Illinois, where he served
for twelve years as
Assistant Pastor and Pastor of Youth Activities. Davis holds the Master
of Ministry and
Doctor of Ministry degrees with honors from Bethany Theological
Seminary. He has authored
several books, including Never Along (Dating from the Biblical
Perspective) and the
TALKS Mentoring curriculum series.
Rev. Davis received an award
of “Excellent” from the Illinois State Board of Education for his
work with the TALKS Program in Champaign. Rev. Davis regularly serves as
an consultant for
mentoring programs around the country and in 2003 consulted with the
Kid’s Club at
Cabrini Green in Chicago.
He has shared the TALKS Program on “Focus on the
Family,” “Money Matters,” and
“Family Life Today.” Davis has served on several boards of directors,
including
Youth for Christ and Boy Scouts of America. He is a frequent speaker for
campus
Inter Varsity meetings, and conducts retreats and seminars for men,
youth, and singles,
and long with his wife, Ollie Watts Davis, for married couples. The
Davises have four children
and reside in Champaign Illinois.
