Tom grew up in southwest suburban Burbank, IL. After graduating from DePaul University with a BS in Accountancy, he began his professional career with Arthur Andersen & Company serving financial services clients such as Household International, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois, American National Bank, and Aon. After leaving Arthur Andersen, Tom spent most of the next 15 years in various management positions with JPMorgan Chase and its predecessors, First Chicago, First Chicago NBD, and Bank One. He was the Director of Operations for Blatt, Hasenmiller, Liebsker & Moore, a creditor’s rights law firm, for four years before joining Focus Strategic Marketing as its managing director in 2010. Focus offers comprehensive marketing strategy and execution for clients in the professional and financial services, insurance and association sectors. Tom met his wife of 22 years, Susan, while at Arthur Andersen & Company. Susan completed her Master’s in Education at National-Louis University in May 2009, after devoting 20 years to raising their two sons, Alex and Ean. Tom was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts of America, serving in various leadership roles over a 14-year period, including Scout Master and Troop Treasurer. Tom enjoyed helping, Alex, reach Life Scout by the age of 15. Ean earned BSA’s highest rank of Eagle Scout by completing a holiday food drive in December 2009 for the Cuba Township Food Pantry. Tom assisted countless other scouts learn scout skills, earn achievements, and advance in rank as part of Barrington Troop 29. One of his most memorable Scouting experiences was the week Tom spent with Alex and two dozen other scouts “roughing it” with no electricity, plumbing, or other conveniences on the Out Island Adventure at the BSA’s Florida Seabase High Adventure in 2006. Tom is a member of American Mensa, is a Liberty Leader volunteer for the Illinois Policy Initiative and is a Certified Public AccountantApril 2010
